モルディブへの日本からの直行便はない（スリランカ航空は2019年10月27日まで成田～マーレ～コロンボ線を運航）ので、アジアまたは中東を経由して行くことになる。

スリランカのコロンボで乗り継ぐ場合は、コロンボまで約8時間30分～10時間。

コロンボからマーレまでは約1時間30分。
