コパン（スペイン語：Copán）は、ホンジュラス西部、現在のコパン・ルイナスに隣接する古典期マヤの大都市。

It was inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List in 1980.

モタグア川支流のコパン川に沿ったコパン谷では、B.C.1400年ごろから人類が集落を形成して居住していたことがわかっている。

また、最近の研究では、このころに居住した人々はマヤ語系の言語を使用しない民族ではなかったかとの説もある。

先日にて、「ヨーロッパの世界遺産」「アジアの世界遺産」「オセアニアの世界遺産」「南アメリカの世界遺産」の全ての収録が完了しました。（2023年登録の一部を除く）

現在は「中央アメリカの世界遺産」の未収録国を公開しています。
