Ivindo National Park (French: Parc national d'Ivindo) is a national park in east-central Gabon, Central Africa, straddling the border between the Ogué-Ivindo and Ogué-Lolo provinces.

Its creation was announced by then President Omar Bongo at the Earth Summit in Johannesburg in August 2002, along with Gabon's other 12 terrestrial national parks.

Most famous for the spectacular Kongou and Mingouri Falls on the Ivindo River, known as the "Wonders of Ivindo," the park also includes the Ipassa Makok Biosphere Reserve and Lange Bai, one of the five most important forest frontier areas in Central Africa.

The park was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2021 for its outstanding biodiversity and relatively undisturbed tropical forest ecosystems.

We have recently completed recording all of the "World Heritage Sites in the Middle East", "World Heritage Sites in North and Central America", "World Heritage Sites in Europe", "World Heritage Sites in Asia", "World Heritage Sites in Oceania", and "World Heritage Sites in South America". (except for some sites to be registered in 2023)

Currently, the last "World Heritage in Africa" countries not yet included in the list are available.

Our goal is to include all World Heritage sites as of 2023 (1,199 sites in 168 countries). (We are very close.)

It is the author's pleasure if you enjoy your trip to the World Heritage sites by combining the information on this site with the information in various guidebooks.
