ハンブルクの倉庫街とチリハウスを含む商館街はドイツの世界遺産の一つであり、ハンブルクが世界屈指の国際商業都市として急成長を遂げた19世紀後半から20世紀初頭の様子を伝える倉庫街（シュパイヒャーシュタット）と商館街（コントーアハウス地区）を対象としている。
登録名にあるように、後者にはフリッツ・ヘーガーによる表現主義建築の傑作チリハウスが含まれる。
