Ushmar (member of India's military caste) (Uxmal) is a Late Classic to Postclassic Maya civilization site in Yucatan, Mexico.
It is located 78 km south of Mérida on Mexico's Highway 261 to Campeche, 110 km from Mérida.
The place name Ushmar is thought to have been pronounced Osh-Maha'al, and although there is some dispute among Mayan language scholars as to its origin, it is thought to be an old Mayan name from before the arrival of Columbus, meaning "a town built three times over.
