It was built in the 18th century by Eise Eisinga, a local wool carder and amateur astronomer, in his living room.
Today, the entire former Eisinga House building is a museum and exhibition facility, and is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a Dutch national heritage site.
All 168 countries have been recorded. (except for the registrations for the years 2023 and 2024)
Our goal is to include all World Heritage sites as of 2024 (1,327 sites in 168 countries) by adding the number of sites registered in 2023 and 2024. (We are very close to completing the entire list.)
