本日は第353弾として、標記のテーマを公開しました。

シーテープは、現在のペッチャブーン県にあたる地で、スコータイ王朝が勃興する13世紀以前に建設されたと考えられているパーサック川流域にある1,000年以上の歴史を持つ古代の町です。

その遺跡を保存するために整備された総面積約4.7㎢の歴史公園は、堀に囲まれた直径約1.5kmの丸い都市、その東側に隣接するやや大きな四角い都市と、ふたつのエリアから成り、いずれも周囲を堀で固めた都市創りや敷地内に発掘・保存されているカオ・クラン・ナイと呼ばれる仏教寺院遺跡などからも、ドヴァーラヴァディー王朝の古代都市と推測されています。

All 168 countries have been recorded. (except for the registrations for the years 2023 and 2024)

Our goal is to include all World Heritage sites as of 2024 (1,327 sites in 168 countries) by adding the number of sites registered in 2023 and 2024. (We are very close to completing the entire list.)
