サマルカンドの概要

ウズベキスタン最大の観光都市・サマルカンド（Samarkand）。

“サマル”とは「人々が出会うこと」、“カンド”は「町」を意味し、その名の通り、古くからオアシス都市であったこの町は世界中の人々が行き交い文化が交差するシルクロードの要衝として繁栄しました。

しかし、13世紀に入ると、チンギス＝ハーン率いるモンゴル帝国の襲撃に遭い町は滅亡、やがて14世紀末に英雄ティムールが現れ、町は再び帝都として復活を遂げていきます。

現在、サマルカンドを象徴する「青の都」の壮麗なモスクや建築群はこのティムール王朝以降のものであり、これらは「サマルカンド－文化交差路」として世界遺産にも登録されています。

日本からの直行便はなく、タシケント経由でウズベキスタン航空が、国内線を運航している（所要時間約55分）。

タシケントからサマルカンド行きは、ウズベキスタン航空の便がありますが、こちらも便数が少なく当日にサマルカンド行きの便に乗り継げないこともある。

タシケントで宿泊し、タシケントからは、タシケント・サマルカンド高速鉄道のアフラシャブ号（約2時間）やバス（約5時間）の利用が一般的。

経由便でもなかなか行きづらいサマルカンドですが、同じイスラム文化が息づくトルコのイスタンブール経由便を利用し、トルコ観光も楽しみながらサマルカンドまで向かってみてはいかがでしょう？

成田からイスタンブール・アタテュルク国際空港行きのターキッシュエアラインズ直行便なら毎日運航、早朝に到着します。

丸1日観光を楽しみ、夜出発のサマルカンド行きに乗れば早朝に到着。

サマルカンド行きは、週4便運航しており便利。

サマルカンド国際空港⇔ City Access:

サマルカンド国際空港は、市内中心部から北へ6kmほど離れた位置にあります。

市内までの移動は主にタクシーのみ。

  高額の呼び込みも多いのでご注意を。旧市街地までは約15分。

サマルカンド市電（トラム）

サマルカンドでは、過去に路面電車が1947年から1973年の間、運行されていた。

その後路面電車が走らない期間が長く続いていたが、2017年4月15日に現在の1号線6.4kmが開業。

2018年3月にはシヨブ・バザールまでの2号線5.1kmが開業した。

トラムは駅方面、街の西側を走っているので、観光スポットを巡るには望ましい手段ではない。

レギスタン広場は「3, 41, 73, 74, 91」番が目の前を通過する。

バス停はレギスタン広場から少し東に行ったところに位置。

平日のラッシュ時には混雑している。

3番と73番はサマルカンド駅が始発になるので、駅からレギスタン広場周辺へ向かう人は乗ってもいいだろう。

cab

「タクシー」と言っても、2つのタイプがある。

1つが車を貸し切る「タクシー」、もう1つが車をシェアする「タクシー」。

前者はイメージ通りのもの、後者は相乗りタクシーだ。

メーターという概念はないので交渉にはなるけど、たいてい3,000スムあれば市内のどこにでも行ける。

少し距離があったり、時間が早い・遅い時は5,000スムぐらいになる。

乗り方
1. 車を止める（道路の真ん中でもいいけど、バス停近くだと人も多いので止めやすい。腕は真横か下へ向ける）。
2. 行先を告げる（乗り込む前に窓から運転手さんに行先を言う。OKなら頷くし、NGならダメの意思を示してくれる）。
3. 料金交渉をする（黙って乗り込んで3,000スム渡すのでもいいし、最初に「3」と指で意思表示してもいい）。
4. 後は乗るだけ。降りるときに「ここで止めて！」という。

サマルカンド長距離バスターミナルは、ウルグベクバスターミナルといいウルグベク天文台に近い。

タシケント行等の長距離バスが出ている。
