What to expect when staying at a hotel in India

1. Tip.

   Bathtubs are only available in high-end hotels and above.
   For mid-range hotels and below, assume that there is basically only a shower.
   Many rooms are shower-only, even in high-end hotels, so don't expect a bathtub.
3. air-conditioning
   Air conditioning is usually provided in most mid-range and higher hotels.
   Inexpensive hotels may have a limited number of rooms.
4. amenity
   Hotels in India do not have the same amenities as in Japan.

   There are no pajamas, so be sure to bring what you need from Japan.
5. dryer
   Hair dryers are also not available in anything less than a mid-range hotel.
   Even if there are, most of them have weak winds or are unusable.
   Hair dryers consume a lot of power, and even through a transformer, Japanese-made ones are almost unusable.

   If the hair dryer is compatible with foreign countries, it can be plugged directly into a hotel outlet.
   If you take care of the hair dryer, the rest of the electrical appliances can be handled with just a conversion plug.
6. Crime Prevention/Security
   Indian hotels have good security for outsiders.
   The front desk is staffed 24 hours a day, and upscale hotels also conduct body checks at the entrance.
   However, be careful what the staff says and does in inexpensive hotels.
   Women in particular should never allow staff into their rooms.
   Some staff members, upon learning that I am a woman, get involved for reasons such as changing light bulbs.
   Even for staff, the ironclad rule is "if you want to interact, do it in a public place.
   Also, if you leave your suitcase in the room, be sure to lock it properly. It is also safer not to use the safety deposit box.
7. Internet/WiFi
   Hotels in India are also providing Internet access these days.
   Free WiFi is available in many inexpensive hotels, and in high-end hotels, WiFi is available for about 100 rupees (about 150 yen) per hour.
   However, the hotel WiFi is difficult to use.
   The speed is slow and can only be used in shared spaces, which is quite inconvenient.
   You should not rely on the hotel's WiFi, but prepare your own Internet environment.

メインガートであるダシャーシュワメード・ガートにも近く、ガンジス川観光には最適な立地。

屋上レストランからガンジス川が間近に見え、とにかく景色がいいと評判。

ゲストハウスにしては料金が高めだが、人気の宿なので飛び込みで入るのは困難。

日本から予約しておいた方が無難。

スタッフの対応も良く、シャワーのお湯がしっかり出るのもありがたい。

メインエリアから遠いのが難点だが、その分静かな環境でゆったりと過ごせる。

時間を忘れて一日中ガンジス川を眺めていたい人におすすめ。
