Independence Monument (Monas) Monumen Nasional
Monas, the National Independence Monument, is located in "Merdeka Square" in the capital city of Jakarta.
It is a civic sports plaza in the mornings and a place for citizens to relax on weekends and holidays.
An elevator takes you to the top (observation deck), where you can look out over Jakarta.
The bottom part of the building is a historical museum where visitors can feel the history of Indonesia.

The largest Islamic prayer hall in Southeast Asia.
Visitors are not allowed to enter the place where Muslims worship, but they can visit from the outside.
Be aware that there are guides and others who charge high fees.
Since this is a sacred place, long sleeves and long pants are recommended.
