Yogyakarta Overview
The city of Yogyakarta (also known as "Yogja" for short) is located on the island of Java, Indonesia, known for its traditional arts and cultural heritage.
Built in the glamorous 18th century, the royal palace (kraton in Javanese) still serves as the residence of the sultan.
There is also an outdoor pavilion in the royal palace where traditional Javanese dance shows and gamelan music concerts featuring gongs, chimes, and stringed repellent instruments are held.
