Bang Pa-in Palace พระราชวังบางปะอิน

Baan Pine, about 20 km south of Ayutthaya, has a beautiful summer palace built by King Prasat Thong on the middle of the Chao Phraya River.

Successive kings of Ayutthaya used this place as their detached palace.

The main buildings that can be seen today were all built by King Rama V.

Access: (1) From Bangkok - Departs every 20 minutes from the North Bus Terminal between 4:50 and 20:00. 2nd class small bus 45B, 1 hour and 30 minutes required.

(2) From Ayutthaya - If you charter a tuk-tuk, the round trip is about 500B including waiting time.

Wat Niwet Thamma Phrawat วัดนิเวศธรรมประวัติราชว

The temple has a main hall that looks like a church with Gothic windows and beautiful stained glass windows depicting King Rama V, the founder of the temple.

Access: Opposite bank of the Baan Pine Detached Palace. Take the gondola at the back of the parking lot next to the palace to cross to the other side of the river. Whenever someone arrives, a monk in charge will operate the gondola and you should put your donation in the donation box.
