水Macau tap water is medium-hard.
Water supplied from the Zhuhai area of mainland China is purified and chlorinated.
Tap water is considered potable, but should not be drunk because the water pipes may be contaminated.
In addition, in recent years, there have been consecutive occurrences of salt tides, a phenomenon in which seawater flows back into the water between October and March, causing a high concentration of salt in the tap water.
It is advisable to drink mineral water during your stay as it may have a negative impact on your health.
public orderAs of February 2018, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' travel safety information has not issued a hazard warning for Macau.
However, rapid economic development has given rise to new social problems, including a surge in tourism, an increase in criminal groups from mainland China, and crimes committed by juveniles.
In particular, beware of the rapidly increasing number of crimes targeting Japanese tourists, such as pickpocketing and passport theft on ferry boats between Hong Kong and Macau and at tourist attractions, theft in parks near casinos, and scams involving cheating gambling.
In 2017, a direct hit by a typhoon caused extensive damage, including flooding and severing of lifelines. Be aware of information during the typhoon season.

Detailed route maps are available at the information counter of the ferry terminal.
How to ride a local bus
When boarding a bus from a bus stop, you must "raise your hand. If you just stand, you will be passed.
Two-door cars are front-loading and rear-loading.
As in Hong Kong, fares are paid in advance, and the amount of money shown on the side of the fare box is to be inserted into the box. Since the fare box is literally just a box, it does not give change and cannot be exchanged like in Japan, so be sure to have change ready beforehand. There is no such thing as a one-day pass in Macau.
There is no in-car announcement.
When getting off the bus, one pushes the "get off" button. Depending on the bus, one may push a push button like in Japan, or one may push a rubber belt attached to the ceiling.
Change is not given, so be sure to have change ready.
