Soekarno-Hatta International Airport ⇔ city access:

  1. cab
Cabs in Indonesia are cheaper than in Japan, making them an easy-to-use mode of transportation.
It is necessary to choose the right cab company, as there are many rip-offs and other malicious cabs.
The most secure are Bluebird, Express, Silverbird, etc.
As you exit the arrivals lobby, you will be confronted by a large number of touting cabs who will force you to join them, but you should shake them off and make it to the Blue Bird boarding area.
The Bluebird Group is said to have the largest number of cars in Jakarta, and the number of customers is so large that there are sometimes long lines.
The next best option is the Express. It has a white body and is slightly cheaper than the Bluebird.
Both Blue Bird and Silver Bird are metered, with the Blue costing around 200,000 rupiah (1,600 yen) from the airport to the city, and the Silver costing around 300,000 rupiah (2,300 yen) to the city.
In addition to the fare, an express fee (about 13,000 Indonesian Rupiah (IRP)) is added to the fare.
There is a cab ticket counter in the arrival lobby, where you can also purchase a cab ticket for a fixed price.
  2. Damri Airport Bus
Airport buses operated by Damri run from the airport to the city's main destinations.
There are 19 bus routes to Terminal Blok M, Stasiun Gambir Station, Kampung Rambutan, Mangga Dua, and Thamrin City.
The fare is 40,000 rupiah one way, about one-fifth that of a cab.
The service interval is 15 to 30 minutes, and runs from early morning around 5:00 a.m. to around 24:00 p.m.
The trip is estimated to take 40 to 80 minutes, but significant delays can be expected depending on road conditions.
There is a bus terminal outside the arrival lobby. Tell the ticket counter where you are going and purchase a ticket.
  3. Blue Bird Group Company Airport Shuttle
Blue Bird Group Inc. also operates airport buses.
Depending on the destination, the buses run from 7:30 a.m. to around 10:50 p.m., and the time required is the same as that of Damri's buses.
The fare is also 40,000 rupiah one way.
  4. Travel agency shuttles & hotel shuttles
For those who come with package tours from various travel agencies, a local meeting place is often set up just outside the arrival lobby after passing through customs, where local tour guides are holding placards and talking to visitors.
  5. Airport Rail Link (train)
It operates between the airport and the Batu Cepel and BNI City stations in the city center.
The trip to BNI City Station takes about 60 minutes, and the fare is 70,000 rupiah one way.
The first train from the airport departs at 10:50 AM (to Batu Cepel) and the last train leaves at 23:20 (to BNI City).

  6. GRAB
A "car-dispatch app" service was launched based in Malaysia.
In March 2018, Uber's Southeast Asian operations were sold to Grab, becoming Southeast Asia's largest vehicle delivery service.
In Indonesia, a company called Gojek also offers a similar service, making it the two largest car delivery apps in Indonesia.

Access from Denpasar International Airport to the city:

  1. airport cab
Estimated travel times and fees range from 120,000 to 150,000 Indonesian rupiah (IDR) to Kuta and from 200,000 to 200,000 IDR to Nusa Dua (the above information is current as of March 2020).
  2. Travel agency shuttles & hotel shuttles
For those who come with package tours from various travel agencies, a local meeting place is often set up just outside the arrival lobby after passing through customs, where local tour guides are holding placards and talking to visitors.
  3. online cab
Grab, an online cab service, is also very popular in Bali.
A Grab Taxi lounge has been established in Denpasar Airport.
In front of the lounge is a dedicated Grab Taxi boarding area, where you can use Grab Taxi in the airport without trouble.
There is a dedicated staff to assist you in using the service.
Open from early morning 07:30 to midnight 02:00.
