What are Hawkers?
A hawker is a street vendor.
The hawker's center is a collection of street stalls that used to sell their products on the street, but due to sanitation issues, were gathered together in one place.
Officially, they are called food centers and are managed by the government.
Those located in shopping centers are called food courts to distinguish them from this.
In addition, a coffee shop (kopitiam) is a privately owned store with several stalls co-located in the same building.
How to use Hawkers
(1) Secure a seat first
(2) Select a restaurant where you want to eat
(3) Order and payment
(4) When you finish eating - The staff will clean up the dishes. Recently, we have been encouraging people to return dishes to the dish return area.
