Kanchanaburi Overview
Kanchanaburi is known for its beautiful mountains and valleys, and is home to Erawan National Park and Sai Yok National Park.
In the border town of Sankraburi, which borders Myanmar to the west, the Mone and Karen people, who are devout believers in Buddhism, live a simple, traditional lifestyle.
Kanchanaburi, where numerous ruins have been discovered and which tell the history of the Khmer Empire from prehistoric times, was made famous to the world by the World War II movie "Bridge over the Battlefield.
In addition to the railroad lines that were laid down, Allied common cemeteries and other sites are scattered near the railway bridge, conveying the tragedy of the war to this day.

Access from Bangkok
Bus: 1st class from South Bus Terminal every 20 minutes between 4:00-22:00, takes 2 hours, 110B. 2nd class every 20 minutes, takes 3 hours, 87B.
(2) Thai Railways: Departs from Thonburi Station at 7:50 and 13:55. The journey takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes. 100B (foreigner fare).

(1) From the bus terminal to the Kwai River Railroad Bridge: 30 to 50B for city transportation by motor scooter.
Tuk-tuk: 50B from the bus terminal to the riverside guesthouse area.
(3) Songteo: Grab a car going in the same direction as your destination and see if it goes through your destination. 10B-20B in the city.
(4) Bicycle rental: Fees are about 50B per day.
(5) Bike rental: Rates range from 150B to 250B per day.
Access to Bangkok
Buses and Thai Railways as well as air-conditioned Rotu. Buses depart from the bus terminal every 20 minutes to every hour from 4:30 to 20:00. The journey takes about 2 hours, 100-120B, to Bangkok North and South Bus Terminals.
